Christian Hurley comes from a long lineage of filmmakers. His great grandfather, William Desmond, was a vaudeville and silent film star. Christian started out in the film industry in the art department at the age of 16, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, the Academy Award nominated art director, Joseph Hurley. He then gained a solid background in production through his mother, Denyse Hurley, who was a prominent commercial and film producer.
Christian discovered his passion for capturing moving images when he began working in the camera department as an AC. He came into his own as a 4th generation filmmaker, and he has been camera operating since 2000. He is a member of Local 600 and an active member of the Society of Camera Operators.
